Big Creek is a peaceful place to walk, with great sledding hills.
A major component of Big Creek Reservation is Big Creek Parkway, a refreshing alternative to the standard suburban commuter routes to Cleveland. The reservation runs parallel to Pearl Road from Valley Parkway to Brookpark Road, and is located in Brooklyn, Parma, Parma Heights, Middleburg Heights, and Strongsville. Undoubtedly the highlight of the reservation is the Lake to Lake Trail, a 2.4 mile, universally accessible all purpose trail that connects Lake Abram to Lake Isaac. On foot, by bicycle, or by wheelchair, one crosses Abram Creek and Bagley Road as they travel the trail that passes through 175 acres of headwater wetlands joining the largest wetlands in Cuyahoga County.
A wooded, 0.7 mile trail leads to the pond, stocked with channel catfish, sunfish and largemouth bass.
This all purpose trail improves access to the Lake-to-Lake Trail and connects the sledding recreation area and Engle Road.
Engle Road Sled Riding Hill is an excellent hill for beginner sledders.
Located along the Lake to Lake Trail in Big Creek Reservation, this restored marshland contains mudflats that provide great waterfowl viewing.
The largest remaining glacial wetland in Cuyahoga County, Lake Abram makes up 80 acres of unique and critical wildlife habitat.
This birding hotspot was once a “kettle lake” sculpted by glaciers during the Ice Age.
