Cleveland Metroparks is pleased to welcome Jacqueline Gerling as its new Director of Communications. Gerling will serve as the lead media relations contact and manage both internal and external communications initiatives.A Cleveland native, Gerling brings nearly a decade of experience leading marketing communications, public relations and social media at an executive level, most recently at a Cleveland-based marketing and advertising agency.Previously, Gerling served six years as a Director of Communications for the State of Missouri and Missouri Governor Jay Nixon. "Jacqueline understands the nuances of working in public service, which is a great asset to our organization," said Kelly Manderfield, Cleveland Metroparks Chief Marketing Officer. "It's an exciting time to have her onboard as we approach our centennial celebration. Her role will be instrumental in sharing the Cleveland Metroparks story."A storyteller at heart, Gerling began her career as a broadcast journalist, reporting and anchoring for the ABC and FOX affiliates in central Missouri. She earned a bachelor's degree in communication from Denison University.Gerling enjoys spending her free time outdoors, and frequently visits Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation.
