Your tax-deductible gift to the Garfield Park Enhancement Fund will help bring back the grandeur of Garfield Park for current and future generations!
Home to Mill Creek Falls (the tallest waterfall in Cuyahoga County), and featuring stunning groves, forests, creeks and valleys, Garfield Park Reservation is a favorite for family gatherings and exercise enthusiasts alike. The
current master plan for this historic park calls for new guest amenities, infrastructure improvements, and more. The first phase of improvements have included:
- Completion of the Mill Creek Connector Trail
- Restoration of historic stone staircases
- Construction of the new Iron Springs Shelter (completed in 2020)
- Completion of a new accessible nature play area near Red Oak Shelter (2020)
The Future of Garfield Park
The next phase of improvements calls for the restoration of the former Garfield Pond. Once the heart of Garfield Park, the old boating pond has filled in with sediment over the years. Its restoration is a critical investment in the environmental, social and economic health of Garfield Heights and our region. The
proposed concept plan includes the restoration of a 2.25-acre pond, a program center with visitor amenities, fishing docks and platforms designed for both adults and children, overlook decks, trail enhancements and more. Once restored, the pond will be activated with dynamic programs ranging from nature education to kayaking, fishing, and other outdoor pursuits.
We invite you to get involved and show your support of this important historic, cultural and environmental gem. Your tax-deductible gift will support this transformative project and help fulfill Garfield Park's potential for the local and regional community.
