Your tax-deductible gift today will help transform Wallace Lake for current and future generations!
17.6-acre Wallace Lake, created in 1941, is poised for an exciting overhaul to meet the needs of this generation and the next. Once a sandstone quarry that was then flooded to create a swimming lake, the current amenities were constructed in the mid 1970’s. Renovations are planned for this popular recreation area to make it more usable, accessible and sustainable.
Wallace Lake is a popular hub for water recreation in the summer and fishing in the spring and fall, being home to the annual west side children’s fishing derby. To better support guests and enrich the year-round experience, the plans include a new concessions and restroom building, an outdoor classroom and recreation education area and ADA kayak launch.
