Experience the lanterns by bike with the return of Wild Ride September 15
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo today announced the popular Asian Lantern Festival presented by Meijer is extended through September 14. In addition, the Zoo announced the return of Wild Ride, a one-night-only event on September 15 where guests of all ages can ride their bike through the Zoo after-hours and experience the illuminated lanterns one last time.
The Asian Lantern Festival extension includes 14 additional nights for guests to experience more than 70 all-new, large-scale lantern displays, live acrobatic performances on the Fifth Third Bank Stage, culturally-inspired cuisine at the MetroHealth Asian Food Market and a variety of interactive and themed areas including the Blooming Gardens presented by CrossCountry Mortgage. Tickets are on sale now for the additional walk-though dates as well as three additional dates for the Asian Lantern Festival Drive Thru experience.
“Since its inception, more than one million guests have experienced the wonder of Asian Lantern Festival, including more than 105,000 guests this year,” said Cleveland Metroparks Chief Marketing Officer Kelly Manderfield. “With the inclusion of Dino Cove in this year’s event, there is more to experience after hours than ever before.”
Wild Ride, a family-friendly cycling experience for all ages, returns Sunday, September 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests can ride through the zoo on their bikes at this one-night-only event. The ride offers guests one last chance to experience the illuminated lanterns from this year’s festival. Bikes are required and tickets are now on sale at
FutureForWildlife.org/wildride. Member tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for youth ages 2-11. Non-members tickets are $16 for adults and $11 for youth ages 2-11. Children under 2 are free.
The discounted cost for Zoo members for Asian Lantern Festival is $21 or a 4-pack for $63. Advance non-member tickets are $24 or a 4-pack for $73. Individual same day tickets can be purchased at the Box Office for $27 until 9:30 p.m. Drive-through tickets are $45 per vehicle for members and $55 per vehicle for non-members.
