RECYCLING PROGRAM
Recycling Program volunteers assist Cleveland Metroparks recycling efforts by sorting through recyclables collected across all 18 park reservations. This effort is critical, as many non-recyclable items end up in these bins, contaminating the entire bag. When this happens, it prevents the bag from going to a recycling facility, with all of its contents instead going to the landfill. With the help of volunteers, trash items are sorted out of the waste and any recyclable material is sent to the correct facility. It is a dirty job, but one with a huge impact! The program typically runs from early spring to late fall, weather permitting.
