Donor: Mercer Friends & Colleagues
Tree Species: Sweetbay Magnolia
Cleveland Metroparks gratefully acknowledges the Jatsyshyn family’s Mercer friends and colleagues for their contributions to the Legacy Fund in memory of Chrystyna Nebesh-Jatsyshyn. These gifts will support reforestation in Cleveland Metroparks now and in the future.
In appreciation of donations in celebration of Chrystyna’s life, Cleveland Metroparks has planted a sweetbay magnolia tree near the picnic shelter at Huntington Beach in Huntington Reservation.
Chrystyna had a positive impact on so many people during her cancer-shortened life as a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a close relative, and a physician. She enjoyed being outdoors immersed in nature, sunshine, and creating memories with family and friends. No matter the season, one of Chrystyna's favorite places to visit was Huntington Beach, particularly at sunset. Chystyna shared her love of the outdoors and Huntington Beach with her three sons through creating the tradition of a sunset visit the day before school started in August to enjoy ice cream and spend quiet time together before the rigors of daily school life began for another year.
