Tree Species: Swamp White Oak
Cleveland Metroparks gratefully acknowledges the family of Ryan P. Rohde for contributing to the Legacy Fund. This gift supports reforestation in Cleveland Metroparks now and in the future.
Ryan Rohde grew up in Brook Park and Strongsville, Ohio. In high school, Ryan was a proud member of the Marching Mustangs band where he played trumpet. He also was a member of the National Honor Society and bowling team. After graduation in 2000, Ryan went on to attend The Ohio State University. Ryan was a kind and caring person who worked in the hospitality industry his entire life. He loved his co-workers as family.
In life, Ryan loved talking about the Civil War, sharing work stories, and cats. Ryan loved animals, but particularly cats.
Ryan enjoyed driving through the Cleveland Metroparks with friends while listening to either jazz or the Beatles. His favorite place in the Metroparks was Mill Stream Run Reservation where he would sit at picnic tables conversing with his good friends. Sometimes, Ryan would simply stop with friends and just admire the beautiful trees. Ryan found solace in nature.
A Swamp White Oak has been planted in Bonnie Park in memory of Ryan P. Rohde.
