Donor: Family of Woody Rasnick
Tree Species: Eastern Hop Hornbeam
Cleveland Metroparks gratefully acknowledges the family of Woodford “Woody” Rasnick for contributing to the Legacy Fund. This gift supports reforestation in Cleveland Metroparks now and in the future.
Woody was raised on farmland and knew the joy of planting seeds, watching something grow and being nourished by it. As an adult, he could be found tending gardens in his own yard, and those of his children. Woody loved nature and breathing in the outdoors. He walked, hiked and biked in many of the Metroparks, especially North Chagrin Reservation. His spirit was renewed in the peace and beauty of the woods and he never found a tree he didn’t want to hug.
An eastern hop hornbeam has been planted near Buttermilk Falls in North Chagrin Reservation in memory of Woody to memorialize his love of nature and his family memories.
