Experience the lanterns by bike with the return of Wild Ride September 17
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo today announced the popular Asian Lantern Festival presented by Meijer is extended through September 16. In addition, the Zoo announced the return of Wild Ride, a one-night-only event on September 17 where guests can ride their bike through the Zoo after-hours and experience the illuminated lanterns one last time.
The Asian Lantern Festival extension includes 14 additional nights where guests can experience more than 70 all-new, large-scale lantern displays, live acrobatic performances on the Fifth Third Bank Stage, culturally-inspired cuisine at the MetroHealth Asian Food Market and a variety of interactive and themed areas including the Enchanted Garden Experience presented by CrossCountry Mortgage. Tickets are on sale now for the additional walk-though dates as well as additional dates for the Asian Lantern Festival Drive Thru Experience presented by Serpentini Chevrolet.
“Already more than 100,000 guests have enjoyed this year’s Asian Lantern Festival,” said Cleveland Metroparks Chief Marketing Officer Kelly Manderfield. “And beginning this Friday, as part of the festival, guests can check out the Zoo’s newest habitat Susie’s Bear Hollow, home to Andean and sloth bears.”
Wild Ride, a family-friendly cycling experience for all ages, returns Sunday, September 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests can ride through the zoo on their bikes at this one-night-only after-hours event. The ride offers guests one last chance to experience the illuminated lanterns from this year’s festival from their bike. Bikes are required and tickets are now on sale for Wild Ride for Wildlife at
FutureForWildlife.org/wildride. Member tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for youth ages 2-11. Non-members tickets are $16 for adults and $11 for youth ages 2-11. Children under 2 are free.
The discounted cost for Zoo members for Asian Lantern Festival is $19 or a 4-pack for $60. Advance non-member tickets are $22 or a 4-pack for $70. Same day tickets can be purchased at the Box Office for $25 or a 4-pack for $75. Drive-through tickets are $45 per vehicle for members and $55 per vehicle for non-members.
