Alerts & Closures

Current list of Cleveland Metroparks closures and restrictions.

Acacia Reservation will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians including all foot paths from 4:30 pm Thursday, November 21st to 6 a.m. Friday, November 22nd due to Wildlife Management.

Beginning September 9, 2024 – Gorge Parkway, Overlook Lane, Button Road, and the nearby All Purpose Trails (APT) will be periodically closed for repaving. During these closures, access to picnic areas and parking lots will be affected.

Beginning November 20, 2024 – The building is open, guests will be rerouted to back entrance for one month due to construction work on front entrance pergola. Detour directions: APT trail around to the rear of the building and up 20 stairs. Accessible entrance available-216-206-1000 for questions.

Beginning October 20, 2022 – All trails adjacent to the Garfield Pond will be closed for ongoing construction for the stream and historical pond restoration project. Learn more about the project.

Beginning October 24, 2023 – Hinckley Lake trail between the spillway and West Drive connector trail closed for Hinckley Lake Dam project. Learn more about the project. Detour directions: The APT (paved trail) will remain open throughout the duration of the project.
Beginning June 16, 2023 – HAD Drilling Contractors will be conducting gas well plugging activity in various areas throughout Hinckley Reservation. No closures are expected at this time.
Beginning August 5, 2024 through August of 2025 - The Coast Guard Causeway is closed for the US Army Corps of Engineers re-building of the causeway out to the old coast guard station. It is closed to vehicles|pedestrians|bicycles|dog walkers|golfers|anglers.

Beginning October 7, 2024 – Valley Parkway between South Quarry and Eastland Road will be closed for road repairs.

Beginning June 14, 2024 – Mastick Road Hill will be closed for Illuminating Company work.
Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works Bridge Closure – Cedar Point Road – West of Valley Parkway – Through 2024.

The parkway is closed between Aurora and Cannon Roads to vehicular traffic for the Hawthorn Bridge project. Currently the All Purpose Trail is open. Learn more about the project.

Beginning October 15, 2024 – The Arborview Picnic Shelter will have limited parking and access to picnic shelter, playground facility and general ground for a Northeast Ohio Sewer District Construction project. Expected completion is August 31, 2028.
