Cleveland Metroparks will be rehabilitating the Royalview Lane Bridge, which carries vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians over the East Branch of the Rocky River in Mill Stream Run Reservation. Proposed work will include replacing the existing bridge superstructure and bridge deck, constructing new bridge approaches, and all purpose trail work on the northwest side of the bridge.
The park may experience temporary impacts to access during construction as the bridge is expected to require a full closure to complete construction. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2027 and will last approximately 5 months.
During construction, a full closure of the bridge is anticipated. There will be no access to the trails south of the bridge or the Royalview Picnic Area during construction. The work will be scheduled for the off-season to minimize interruption of when park guests use these areas the most. Valley Parkway will be closed for brief periods (one to two days) during demolition and installation of bridge beams. Advance notice of Valley Parkway closures will be provided.
