The Board of Park Commissioners adopted The Second Century of Stewardship System Plan in February 2022. The Second Century of Stewardship sought continuing public input and feedback and incorporated the collected input from thousands of people who shared ideas, concerns, and dreams for the future of Cleveland Metroparks.
Mission: Protecting nature, connecting communities and inspiring conservation of our world.
Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, and Northeast Ohio enjoy a beautiful setting along Lake Erie in an area rich with natural resources. The river valleys, shorelines, parkways, trails and forests of Cleveland Metroparks resonate with the community and enjoy broad support. The nearly 105-year-old park system is both a significant tourist attraction and an integral part of the region’s identity and quality of life. The 24,350 acres currently protected by Cleveland Metroparks hosted a record-breaking 19.7 million recreational visits in 2020.
