Cleveland Metroparks today announced the return of the Cleveland Metroparks Race Series presented by CrossCountry Mortgage. This year’s race and walk series features four races across Cleveland Metroparks and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and is designed to encourage exploration and exercise throughout the year.
The 2025 series kicks-off with the Earth Day 5K at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on April 19 at 8:30 a.m. Pre-registration is now available through April 18 and participants receive entry into the Zoo, refreshments, a custom race shirt and finisher medal. A portion of the proceeds from the Earth Day 5K support green practices and sustainability efforts at the Zoo.
"We are thrilled to continue the tradition of the Cleveland Metroparks Race Series thanks to the strong support of CrossCountry Mortgage. The series is a fantastic way for participants to experience the beauty of our parks and connect with nature, wildlife, and our park community. Stay tuned for three additional special race announcements later this year," said Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian M. Zimmerman.
Additional races for the 2025 series include:
Whiskey Island 5K on August 24: Explore the Whiskey Island Trail and Wendy Park Bridge to benefit Cleveland Metroparks K-9 unit.
Future For Wildlife 5K on October 5: Help Cleveland Metroparks Zoo secure a future for wildlife by running for conservation efforts to protect animals in the wild.
Veterans 5K on November 9: Walk or run through Edgewater Beach in honor of our nation’s veterans.
Pre-registration for each race is $30, or take the CrossCountry Mortgage challenge and sign up for all four races to save $20.
“We are excited to partner with the Cleveland Metroparks on the race series for the fourth year,” said Laura Soave, Chief Brand Officer, CrossCountry Mortgage. “This race series is one of our favorite ways to connect community members to our incredible Cleveland Metroparks system. We’re proud to call Northeast Ohio home and are looking forward to participating in this unique opportunity to explore the great outdoors while supporting great causes.”
