Donor: Leslie Lahr
Tree Species: Tulip Tree
Cleveland Metroparks gratefully acknowledges Leslie Lahr for her support of the Legacy Fund. This gift supports reforestation in Cleveland Metroparks now and in the future. This tulip tree, planted in memory of Isabel and Timber, is located at the top of the sledding hill in Huntington Reservation.
For years, Huntington Reservation brought so much joy to Isabel (Sissy Mae) and Timber (Bobo Joe). The woods, the hills, the plants and flowers, the paths, the creek, the lake, the birds and bees, the humans, the dogs!
Isabel and Timber are missed with every breath. If you feel a sudden burst of energy and hope for the future when you’re at the top of the sledding hill at Huntington, that’s Isabel and Timber.
Long may they run.
The Walk
Bobo Joe, he gotta go.
Sissy Mae, she wanna stay.
One goes forward, one goes back.
(I just heard my back go “crack.”)
On and on we go this way.
I mean every bloomin’ day.
As for me, they never see
My twisted knee.
The spilling tea.
My secret glee.
Hey, watch that tree!
This tulip tree was planted in May 2023.
