Donor: Family and Friends of Miles Casey Gamez
Tree Species: Redbud
Cleveland Metroparks gratefully acknowledges the family and friends of Miles Casey Gamez for their support of the Legacy Fund. This thoughtful gift in memory of Miles supports reforestation in Cleveland Metroparks now and in the future.
Miles loved spending time surrounded by nature, hiking, biking, swimming and exploring. His favorite places included Rocky River Reservation, where he learned to skip stones in the river, took long walks along the trails and went for even longer bike rides. He also enjoyed visiting the shores and beaches of Lake Erie at Wendy Park, Edgewater Beach and Huntington Beach. Miles and his mother would take walks around the Stitchcomb-Groth Memorial and had some of their deepest conversations there.
The family's favorite tree is a native Redbud. They have two planted in their own yard, and chose to have a Redbud tree planted near the Stinchcomb-Groth Memorial to honor Miles' memory and represent his beautiful life.
His family hopes you can feel Miles' spirit and the peace he felt while surrounded by nature each time you pause for some reflection by this symbolic tree.
A Redbud has been planted in Miles' memory near the Stinchcomb-Groth Memorial - Rocky River Reservation.
