Donor: Family of Miriam Packer
Tree Species: October Glory
Cleveland Metroparks gratefully acknowledges the family of Miriam Packer for contributing to the Legacy Fund. This gift supports reforestation in Cleveland Metroparks now and for the future.
Miriam was a lover of nature and found inspiration throughout her life in the beauty of Cleveland Metroparks. We have fond memories of enjoying Rocky River Reservation together, whether sledding in the winter, enjoying a picnic in the spring or summer, or joining her on her Sunday drives with her mother to see the spectacular colors of the fall foliage.
The October Glory maple tree is a celebration of the autumn colors she loved, as well as a tribute to the glorious person she was. Miriam was fun-loving, social, and kind. She always had a positive word for everyone and was there to lend a helping hand, when needed. She laughed hard and often. She had a beautiful laugh.
We find comfort that this tree will live on in her memory, providing a small snack to the critters after a long winter, a bit of needed shade in the summer, and finally, to dazzle with a vibrant display in the fall.
We welcome all to visit her tree for a picnic, to read a book, to play with your dog (she would love that), or just find solitude and peace in the surrounding beauty.
Miriam's October Glory was planted near Big Cedar Point Picnic Area Summer 2023
