Donor: Nicole Chaps
Tree Species: Black Gum
The tree was gifted by her daughter, Nicole Chaps, who could not think of a more important or impactful way to show her appreciation and commemorate 70 years for this nature lover and outdoor enthusiast. This tree not only celebrates Sandra’s 70th birthday, but also is a permanent symbol of their love, friendship and close bond.
andra instilled in her daughter a great appreciation for the outdoors, and their hiking adventures have taken them across the country and beyond, most recently to the Appalachian Trail and Iceland. Sandra and her family spend a wealth of time throughout the Cleveland Metroparks hiking, biking, kayaking and doing yoga, so it was difficult to pick one specific tree location!
Sandra and her daughter are frequent visitors to West Creek Reservation due to its proximity to their homes, and they appreciate the diversity of the park, from forested ravines to meadows to wetlands. They look forward to watching the tree grow and are grateful to contribute to such an amazing park system.
