Fort Hill Stairs, Rocky River Reservation 
This climb up 155 stairs provides beautiful views of the Rocky River Valley and West Channel Pond. Conveniently located directly behind Rocky River Nature Center, it is best to park in the nature center parking lot to reach this uphill hike.

Squire's Lane Trail, North Chagrin Reservation
Hit the trail behind Squire's Castle for a winding uphill climb. Enjoy great views of the castle grounds and surrounding wetlands, then head deeper into the forest to connect to a network of scenic and unique trails.

Whipp's Ledges, Hinckley Reservation 
While this uphill climb may be challenging, it is well worth the hike up from Whipp's Ledges parking lot to view the towering and impressive Sharon conglomerate ledges. Be cautious of the rocky, uneven and slippery terrain.

Glenridge Loop Trail, Euclid Creek Reservation 
From Highland Picnic Area, cross Euclid Creek Parkway and head steadily upward onto the Glenridge Loop Trail, which follows the course of Glenridge Road. Return along the Squirrel Run Trail, which is mostly flat and forested.

Skyline Overlook Trail, West Creek Reservation 
Skyline Overlook Trail rewards hikers with a surprising view of downtown Cleveland from West Creek Reservation. This accessible trail is a short wooded ascent and well worth the climb on a clear day. Approach the trail from Lookout Ridge Loop across from Keystone Shelter. Follow the Skyline Trail directionals to one of the higher elevations in the park.

The Cleveland skyline is visible through a lush canopy of trees, showcasing a blend of nature and urban architecture.


Deer Lick Cave Loop Trail, Brecksville Reservation     
You will have plenty of uphill climbs on this 4-mile loop trail through the hills and valleys of Brecksville Reservation. Be sure to hike down to see Deer Lick Cave. This trail can be accessed from Brecksville Nature Center or Deer Lick Cave parking area on Valley Parkway.

Hermit's Hollow, Bedford Reservation     
It starts with a steep uphill climb and then you travel the ridge line overlooking the Tinker’s Creek Valley. This hike will make you feel like you are deep in the forest while giving you views of the neighboring tree lines across the valley. It is 2 miles round trip with hills scattered throughout.

Garfield Park APTs, Garfield Park Reservation 
As you walk the perimeter of Garfield Park you will find a hill in either direction. If you park next to the center and travel left along the All Purpose Trail toward the Old Boating Pond you will find yourself climbing a large hill leading you to Red Oak Picnic Area. If you travel right heading toward Garfield Park Blvd. along the All Purpose Trail you will find the hill along the roadway to get your heart pumping. Either direction will be an adventure along the edge of the forest.

Hemlock Creek, Bedford Reservation     
Walk along Tinker's Creek or head straight to the Bridle Trail as a warmup for this exceptional climb. This 2 mile hillside hike offers tremendous views of the forest and creek below, with a top-notch overlook of the Tinker's Creek Valley once you reach the ridge top.

Cedar Point Loop Trail, Rocky River Reservation 
Climb to the top of Cedar Point hill for extraordinary views overlooking the connection of the east and west branches of the Rocky River. To access trail, park at Maple Grove Picnic Area, cross Valley Parkway, and follow a short section of bridle trail.
