Ten New Cleveland Metroparks Trails to Explore

Oak Ridge Trail, West Creek Reservation    

Take a delightful detour from the Bluebird Trail to explore the newly opened West Creek Cliffs Scenic Area. This 0.4-mile path, accessible from the Oak Ridge Trail, offers breathtaking, unparalleled views of West Creek that you won't find anywhere else.

Little Explorer's Trail, West Creek Reservation   

West Creek Reservation's newest trail is designed for some of our youngest explorers. This 100-yard section of wooded trail ties into the Watershed Stewardship Center Wetland Loop, encouraging guests to experience a variety of habitats.

Storybook Trail, Rocky River Reservation   

Bring your kids to visit our new Storybook Trail! Perfect for young readers, this short loop trail features Marianne Berkes's “Over in the Forest.” As you walk you can read the story and look for animal sculptures based on the book. The trail ends at our wildflower garden where you can admire early spring blooms.

Eastern Ledge Trail, Euclid Creek Reservation    

This trail opened in 2022 and features a new bridge and a natural surface trail that gradually takes you up the impressive cliffside and rewards you with a scenic overlook of Euclid Creek and the surrounding area. The newly installed railings give you a good sense of security as you enjoy the impressive rock formations that once provided a living for quarry workers.

Mastick Road Connector Trail, Rocky River Reservation      

The paved Mastick Road Connector Trail offers a connection from the city of Fairview Park to Rocky River Reservation. Guests can access the trail near the intersection of Eaton and Mastick Roads in Fairview Park and travel into the reservation to the intersection of Valley Parkway and Mastick Road.

Red Bud Loop Trail, Garfield Park Reservation    

The Red Bud Loop Trail is a brand-new gem in the Emeral Necklace. Enjoy a walk along the edge of the Garfield Park Pond, over a wetland, and around the runs and riffles of Wolf Creek. The trail includes a boardwalk over the restored floodplain of Wolf Creek, where you can admire secretive wildlife like pileated woodpeckers. Other sections are ADA accessible offering access to scenic views for all. You can also reach the charming and historic stone stairs between Wolf Creek and Garfield Park Pond from this trail.

Canal Trail, OECR Mountain Bike Trails, Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation         

Trail runs along the east side of the Ohio & Erie Canal (part of the mountain bike trail) providing views of the North and South ponds, the Ohio & Erie Canal, and secluded habitats otherwise restricted from public view.

Cleveland-Cliffs Bike Park, Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation             

This asphalt track is made for bicycle riders who use their knees to pump and create momentum to move them around the continuous track. It includes hills, sharp turns, and adventure. Open to all ages and experiences, the Bike Park features hills, sharp turns and jumps for advanced riders as well as a beginner level track for a milder experience.

Center Pond Trail, Acacia Reservation          

Take a detour off the Woodpecker Way Loop onto the recently added boardwalk for close-up views of the Center Pond. Bring your fishing poles and make the Center Pond Trail your destination. The boardwalk provides an easy and accessible way to explore the pond with rod and reel.

White Oak Trail/My Mountain Trail, Brecksville Reservation          

The 1.4-mile White Oak Loop Trail weaves through the hillsides and mature oak hickory forest. Add on the spur to My Mountain for views of the valley below. This spur makes the total length 2.1 miles.
