This immersive 3-hour experience is tailored to help individuals explore the exciting array of careers available at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Our diverse staff, representing various backgrounds and fields, takes center stage in this program, providing valuable insights into their roles.
Throughout the day, participants will have the unique opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge about the multitude of careers that contribute to the thriving operation of the zoo and park. The program introduces participants to a spectrum of career paths, ranging from engineering and horticulture to animal care, marketing, and education.

For the safety of all, direct contact with exhibit animals is not possible. This program provides an introduction and overview of many zoo related careers for high school students and young adults (ages 13-18+).
Parent attendance is not required. Everyone attending the program must have a paid registration.
Program fees and deposits are non-refundable. Participants assume risk of all changes in personal health and affairs. With advanced notice of one week prior to the scheduled program date, the program may be rescheduled for free to a new date pending inventory/availability before the end of the following calendar year with a maximum of one (1) reschedule move. Rescheduling requests will not be honored for “no-shows” and requests submitted with less than a week’s notice, will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
If Cleveland Metroparks Zoo finds it necessary to cancel a program, a refund or internal education program credit will be issued. Registrants will be notified if programs are cancelled. By registering for a program, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this policy.
No. Career Quest is a 3-hour experience. Participants are recommended to eat beforehand or afterwards. A lunch break will not be provided during the program.
Yes. Our education programs are interactive experiences that take place in different locations within the Zoo. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and dressing appropriately for the weather. If you have any accessibility needs or concerns regarding mobility, please let us know so that accommodations can be made, if needed.
