Orangutans

Zaki is two years old. Given his young age, Zaki loves to play and show his independent side. His name means “virtuous.”

Kera is mother to Merah and Zaki and the curious one in the habitat. She enjoys solving enrichment puzzles and keeping an eye on Merah and Zaki

Tiram is father to Merah and Zaki. At 37 years old, he is a relaxed, tolerant father when he isn’t spending time with his best friend Kayla.

Kayla is 37 years old. She can be found enjoying primate biscuits, romaine, spinach, kale, and various fruits.

Merah is the oldest of Tiram and Kera’s two births at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Her name means “red.” She is an instigator of play and great older sister to Zaki.
