Current list of Cleveland Metroparks closures and restrictions.

Brecksville Reservation

  • December 10, 2024 - Meadows Drive from the Gazebo to Valley Parkway is closed for the winter due to snow and ice. The drive will reopen in the spring.
  • Valley Parkway between Route 21 (Brecksville Road) and Chippewa Creek Drive, and Chippewa Creek Drive between Route 82 (E Royalton Road) and Riverview Road including Meadows Picnic Area, Deer Lick Cave, Oak Grove Picnic Area, Brecksville Nature Center and Chippewa Picnic Area will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians from noon Tuesday, February 4th to 6 a.m. Wednesday, February 5th due to Wildlife Management. 

CanalWay Center

  • Beginning November 20, 2024 – The building is open, guests will be rerouted to back entrance for one month due to construction work on front entrance pergola. Detour directions: APT trail around to the rear of the building and up 20 stairs. Accessible entrance available-216-206-1000 for questions.

Hinckley Reservation

  • Beginning October 24, 2023 – Hinckley Lake trail between the spillway and West Drive connector trail closed for Hinckley Lake Dam project. Learn more about the project. Detour directions: The APT (paved trail) will remain open throughout the duration of the project.
  • Beginning June 16, 2023 – HAD Drilling Contractors will be conducting gas well plugging activity in various areas throughout Hinckley Reservation. No closures are expected at this time.
  • Hinckley Lake Boathouse will be closed January 20th - January 22nd 2025 (reopens January 23rd 2025) due to expected cold temperatures.

Lakefront Reservation

  • Beginning August 5, 2024 through August of 2025 - The Coast Guard Causeway is closed for the US Army Corps of Engineers re-building of the causeway out to the old coast guard station. It is closed to vehicles, pedestrians, bicycles, dog walkers, and anglers.

 North Chagrin Reservation

  • Beginning December 9, 2024 - a section of the Bridle Trail- NC4 from Ox Lane south to the top of the hill in A.B. Williams Woods is closed to to culvert failure.

Rocky River Reservation

  • Valley Parkway will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians from Wooster Rd to I-90 including Tyler Field and Memorial Field, from noon Wednesday, February 5th to 6 a.m. Thursday, February 6th due to Wildlife Management. 

South Chagrin Reservation

  • The Hawthorn Parkway Bridge will be under construction from January 20 until the fall of 2025.The road and APT will be fully closed to the public. Learn more about the project.

Washington Reservation

  • Beginning October 15, 2024 – The Arborview Picnic Shelter will have limited parking and access to picnic shelter, playground facility and general ground for a Northeast Ohio Sewer District Construction project. Expected completion is August 31, 2028.
