Recycling Program volunteers assist Cleveland Metroparks recycling efforts by sorting through recyclables collected across all 18 park reservations. This effort is critical, as many non-recyclable items end up in these bins, contaminating the entire bag. When this happens, it prevents the bag from going to a recycling facility, with all of its contents instead going to the landfill. With the help of volunteers, trash items are sorted out of the waste and any recyclable material is sent to the correct facility. It is a dirty job, but one with a huge impact! The program typically runs from early spring to late fall, weather permitting.
Help keep Cleveland Metroparks free of debris! Clean Team members go out on their own to pick up litter and debris throughout our 18 reservations. Clean parks mean a safe and enjoyable experience for guests. Clean parks also provide a healthy environment for native plants and wildlife to thrive. Join our team today! Only Clean Team volunteers and other authorized volunteers and staff are permitted to clean up litter in the parks. Please consider joining our volunteer program to get started.
